Bharatanatyam is quite possibly the oldest classical dance tradition of India. The performance repertoire of Bharatanatyam, like other classical dances, includes nrita (pure dance), nritya (solo expressive dance) and natya (group dramatic dance).

Mohiniyattam, which means dance of Enchantress, is one of two classical dances of India that developed and remain popular in the state of Kerala. Mohiniyattam is characterized by graceful, swaying body movements with no abrupt jerks or sudden leaps. It belongs to the lasya style which is feminine, tender and graceful.

Semi – classical Dance

Keeping the classical dance form intact, this style will be less complex and intricate than the classical dance. Semi-classical dance breaks the stylized structures and forms of the classical dance, and adopts a more contemporary feel and steps.
