Our Vaga Lume, Marshida is starting this venture in Calicut after 10 years of her rich experience on this platform in London (Dance Lab UK). She has attained tremendous success in choreography for dance shows, her famous dance school and variety of other related activity. Her team has received accolades at many European dance events. They have been the Champions of Dance stars 2008 and Supernova 2014(both Europe championships), to the latest one Vaani 2015 (UK National level).
Marshida has bagged herself the Best Performer Award while also lifting the 1st runners up trophy for the Dance Battle 2011 (Europe championship held in UK) and Freedom 2011 (held in Paris, France). She has achieved appreciation for her choreography by many well -known personalities whom she worked with , Mr Hariharan , Ms Sadhana Sargam( Play back singers ), Mrs Kushboo and Ms Suganya( Cine Artists) Mr Gokul and Mr Satish, Ms Divya darshini ( dance celebrities of Reality TV shows ),are a few to name from the list. Her team was chosen to perform for Olympic Mela 2012 and shared stage with Shaimak Dawar’s Team on Mayors Diwali show 2014 at Trafalgar Square, London, representing South India for both shows. Together with her team, Dance Lab UK, has attained 100% success rate in not just stage performances and workshops but also in event management, hosting many cultural events in London. She has made her team Dance Lab a familiar name in many prestigious performing venues in UK, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Piccadilly Theatre, The Mermaid, to name a few among them.
A Graduate in B.Com with Travel and Tourism from University of Calicut and thereafter lived in UK for 17 years with profession of Interpreter and Choreographer. Passionate about dance but also enjoys practicing Yoga which allows her to balance body, mind and soul. Mother of two, Marshida is well- focused and knows how to draw right balance between her career and family and yet fulfill her dreams. She has created not only talented dancers but also good team leaders with social responsibilities towards families and the society.
She is Certified in Emergency Life Support and Basic First Aid (by St John Ambulance, UK), Paediatric First Aid/ CPR (by Frinton Training Services UK). Also attended courses in Working in Mental Health (by East London NHS Trust), and Good Parenting by Sure Start Newham.
Within a year of Vaga Lume, she had made her dance team capable of participating in major events in Calicut. They also shared stage with popular artist like P Jayachandran, Arun Gopa during “Shadamudra”, the centenary celebration of Kottakkal Aryavaidyasala. She was awarded the Women Legend of Calicut by Shethon 2019 organising committee for her outstanding achievements.
